#State security service

The State Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan (SSS RK) is a special state body directly subordinate and accountable to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, responsible for ensuring national security.

Date of establishment: April 21, 2014. Preceding structures — the Presidential Security Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republican Guard.

Main tasks:

- Ensuring the security of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as other protected individuals;

- Identifying, preventing, and neutralizing threats to protected individuals and facilities;

- Implementing counter-terrorism measures;

- Guarding the standards of the state symbols.
